Dog Butter is a non-joining
monotone script with a large cap to lowercase size contrast. Non-joining
means that the letters are always separate and not meant to look like
a pen script. This grew out of an analysis of an old Barnhart Brothers
& Spindler type called Oliphant. It was similar in form, but was
based in a hand-lettered original that was inconsistent in form and
had some very weak letters.
The face is currently in development
in a series of five weights in OpenType format. Work has been postponed
until Tinman face is finished.
